About the Client
Innovative Pools markets pool and home automation control products. Their products allow customers complete
control over all pool and spa functions, as well as having auxiliary positions available for indoor and
outdoor lighting.
They had previously used an engineering consultant to design and manufacture their home control products
as well as attempted to partner with another company for an LCD-based interface device. Though
Innovative Pools was successful in marketing its products, development delays and manufacturing problems
limited the company's ability to generate revenues.
The Project
Blue Sky Labs first project for Innovative Pools was to re-create their existing designs with the proper
documentations and modifications necessary for contract manufacture. Once the project was complete, we
worked with our manufacturing partners, including Velocitech, to begin consistent production.
Our next project was to complete the design and implementation of Innovative Pools' Smart Touch LCD
interface. Innovative Pools had been working with a partner for over 2 years, without completing the
project. Blue Sky Labs developed an LCD appliance running Linux on a DragonBall processor to provide a
clean, easy-to-use interface for Innovative Pools' products.
