  • About the Client
    New Tech Solutions distributes biomedical equipment. Their products include the NTS1, a 2-channel interferential electrotherapy device used to treat certain types of muscle and soft-tissue injuries. New Tech Solutions founded Ryan Telemedicine to develop and manufacture future products.

    Ryan Telemedicine asked Blue Sky Labs to bid on a new product development project for an advanced version of the device, the NetWave Interferential Stimulator. As part of the project bidding process, we evaluated the NTS1 for engineering, manufacturing, and financial performance. The current product was manufactured and sold to New Tech by a third party at a cost we felt was much higher than it needed to be. We proposed that Ryan Telemedicine could begin by taking over the production of current product. Our design reduced the cost of production by 65%.

    The Project
    Blue Sky Labs designed the NTS2 to be "substantially equivalent" to the older NTS1, allowing for fast and inexpensive FDA approval. We also worked with our manufacturing partners to provide Ryan Telemedicine with turnkey electronics manufacturing, keeping their production management expenses to a minimum. In the end, a combination of intelligent design, manufacturing expertise, and efficient product sourcing saved our clients over $500,000 in 6 months.
